I don’t listen to many podcasts, because when I have free time I prefer to either watch movies, write, or listen to music. However, I do make time for a podcast every now and then, so I figured I may as well begin recommending the ones I have the pleasure of knowing about. Today, I will be recommending the hilarious comedy-interview podcast, Sooo Many White Guys hosted by Phoebe Robinson.
This podcast works as a spin-off to the WNYC Studios podcast 2 Dope Queens hosted by Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams (who many of you may recognize from The Daily Show), which I learned about after watching the four-part HBO comedy series/special of the same name and hosts. After watching all three, I have come to the conclusion that the 2 Dope Queens HBO special is fresh, the 2 Dope Queens podcast is good, but the Sooo Many White Guys is great. Its something that everyone should be listening to.
Sooo Many White Guys
Comedy| Interview| 3 Seasons| 30-56m
Hosted By: Phoebe Robinson, Ilana Glazer, Joanna Solotaroff
The name for this show alone lays groundwork for the ensuing hilarity. Sooo Many White Guys works as a response to the overwhelming amount of white men in the comedy landscape. Phoebe Robinson uses her platform to promote the underrepresented and has big laughs along the way with Ilana Glazer (who many of us know from Broad City) and Joanna Solotaroff. Each season features a slew of celebrity guests who are either persons of color, women, or a member of the LGBTQ+ community. To cap off each season they throw in one “token” white guy (usually a huge name like Tom Hanks or Bill Hader) just for giggles. You can find the Sooo Many White Guys podcast on Apple Music, Spotify, or wnycstudios.com right now.
